Sunny Given is a West Virginia native and a 9-year resident of the county. She has worked more than 25 years in the graphic design field. Given has been employed at The Pocahontas Times since 2002 in advertising sales and design. She also runs a small home-based business. She does freelance design, notably for the Town of Marlinton and the Pocahontas Historical Society.

Given is a member of the Humane Society of Pocahontas County coordinating news releases and advertising, and is in the process of developing a HSPC newsletter.

She is an inactive member of the Marlinton Rescue Squad. Any spare time is devoted to her husband, Dave, working and showing horses, and keeping things going on their farm.
