The Harvest Festival Fair is fast approaching and we hope all the gardeners, homemakers, crafters, seamstresses, quilters, artists, and photographers young and old are planning ahead. Entry day is September 28th from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the State Farm building next to the Pocahontas Times office on 8th Street in Marlinton. Please note that this is a new location for the Harvest Festival Fair.
Categories are baked goods, canned goods, garden vegetables, fruit, woodworking, needlework, flower arrangements, quilts, craft items, photography, and artwork. We cannot accept live animals. All exhibits should be recent projects that have not been previously submitted. Baked goods are to be exhibited on plain white paper plates in a clear plastic bag. We suggest these quantities; 1/2 loaf of bread, 3-muffins, biscuits, rolls, and cookies, 4-candies, 2 slices of cakes or pies. Our judges do like to taste before making their decisions.
Exhibits will be judged prior to public viewing. The Fair exhibits will be open to the public Saturday, September 29th at 9 a.m. Voting for People’s Choice award will begin at this time. People’s Choice ribbon will be awarded at 3:30 p.m. The Fair committee will take care that all tiems are safe but will not be responsible for loss, theft or damage to exhibits.
